What is it?
Pub Sevens is a fun, non-contact version of rugby for players of all ages and abilities.
Players wear tag-belts (velcro belts with nylon tags hanging from them) and are
tackled when the tags are removed. There is no contact between players and the game
can be played by both men and women of all ages. Matches last for five minutes each
way, with the winner being the team that scores the most tries.
Sunderland Rugby Club are hosting a Pub Sevens competition to co-incide with the
2007 World Cup in France. It promises to be an exciting day for all the family and
will include:
- Seven-a-side tag rugby competition in a World Cup format with cash prizes and trophies
for the Cup and Plate winners.
- Big screen showing World Cup matches
- Bouncy castles and rides for the kids
- Cheap beer and various bar promotions and
- A great family atmosphere
Who can play?
The competition is open to anyone over the age of 16 male or female in squads of
no more than 10 players, no previous experience of playing rugby is needed.
Each squad must contain at least one female, and must have at least 7 players, up
to a maximum of 10.

How much does it cost?
It costs £50 to register a squad of 10 players, that's just £5 per person!
